Luanda – More than 374 families were affected by the heavy rain of Tuesday, Feb 18, in Luanda Province, ANGOP learned.
According to preliminary data from the Civil Protection and Fire Service (SPCB), a school, Civil Registry Office and a church were flooded and 8 trees fell.
According to the report, four retention basins and three drainage ditches overflowed.
The statement highlights that, in the municipality of Viana, 226 homes were flooded, harming a sum of 1,130 people.
Likewise, in the municipality of Cacuaco, 102 homes were flooded, affecting 510 people.
The report highlights that there is difficulty in the mobility of people and goods in several areas of Luanda, due to constraints on secondary and tertiary roads.
The SPCB ensures that teams from the Municipal Operational Coordination Centers (CCOM) and the province continues to work on the ground to compile and collect data and support the affected populations.
It informs that CCOM continues to be on alert and monitoring the situation, ensuring that data are timely updated as new surveys are confirmed by other municipalities.
