Luena - The participation of the Moxico province in providing information for the General Population and Housing Census underway in the country was praised on Saturday by the head of the provincial services of the National Statistics Institute (INE), José Januário.
According to the INE official, the reception of the agents in the communities is being positive, a process that is counting on the support of traditional and religious authorities, as well as officials of administrative structures.
“So far we've had no cases of our agents being rejected and we're satisfied,” he said.
The coordinator of the provincial technical group, Wilson Augusto, on his turn said the supervision of the census work will continue, especially in areas that are difficult to access to secure the success of the process.
He reiterated that the census process in the province is running normally, without any constraints and that census agents in the province are already working in the municipal offices and the 21 communes that make up the region to collect information.
In Moxico province, the process is being carried out by more than 2,000 census agents, spread across the region's nine municipalities, namely Alto Zambeze, Bundas, Cameia, Camanongue, Léua, Luacano, Luau, Luchazes and Moxico.
Taking place under the motto “Together we count for Angola”, the Census is organized by the Angolan government, through the National Statistics Institute (INE). TC/YD/AMP
