Talatona – Angola will start the second General Census of Population and Housing on 19 July, 2024.
The announcement was made by the director-general of the National Statistics Institute (INE), José Calengi, on Friday in Luanda.
Calengi announced this to the press during a seminar for INE technicians, stating that the effective collection of the 2024 Census will take place within 15 days.
The official also said that the effective process will be preceded by some activities, as part of its preparation.
As example, the director-general of INE spoke of the cartographic updating in the country and announced that a Pilot Census to prepare for the 2024 Census will take place on 19 July this year.
The pilot Census will cover the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Lunda Norte, Cuando Cubango, Bié and Cunene, he noted.
