Lubango - The main suspect in the robbery that killed an Eritrean businessman, on the 5th of February, in Lubango, Huíla province, was arrested last Saturday, in the city of Saurimo, province of Lunda-Sul, by the Investigative Service Criminal (SIC), ANGOP learned.
Last week the police presented three individuals, also, allegedly involved in the case, but stated that the main suspect, identified by his accomplices as the author of the shooting, known as “Bad Ilustre” was out.
Speaking this Monday, to ANGOP, the provincial commander of the National Police of Huíla, commissioner Divaldo Martins, said that available information shows that after fleeing Lubango, he passed through Huambo, from where he continued to Benguela, climbing Malange, to take refuge in the city of Saurimo.
The now detained man, according to the officer, is the author of the robbery involving the murder of the Eritrean merchant, and also part of the robberies that have occurred since January in the municipality of Lubango and was part of a criminal association called "Champions League", with cells in the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Huíla and Namibe.
According to the officer, another citizen was arrested with Bad Ilustre, Bruno Valeriano, a "fat dog", who was also a fugitive from the police, for crimes committed in the province of Namibe.
In addition to the two now captured, the Huíla police had already arrested Jikilson, in Huambo, Sónia and João, in Lubango, all for involvement in the crimes committed by the gang, in the province of Huíla.
The 37-year-old Eritrean businessman was shot dead in the middle of a public street, on February 5th, in the Lubango industrial area, after resisting a robbery, while carrying 36 million kwanzas to deposit in a bank.
In total, at least 12 people are directly and indirectly involved in the case, according to the national police. MS/CF/DOJ
