Cabinda - An artisanal vessel, with 4 people on board, has been reported missing since January 27 this year, in the sea of Cabinda.
The information was provided by the vessel's owner, Pascoal António Casimiro, who said he had received the last call from the vessel's master in the coastal area of Soyo (north-western Zaire Province), warning of an engine failure, when they were already returning to Cabinda, after the fishing.
"After this phone call we lost contact, until now. We have kept the authorities of the captaincy of Soyo and Cabinda informed, who are making efforts to locate the crew, but without success," he said.
The head of maritime security of the captaincy of the port of Cabinda, Fernando Massiala, informed that, although there is a shortage of means for search and rescue, the only ship that exists does everything, in collaboration with CABGOC's maritime security services ( Cabinda Gulf Oil Company), to find the vessel and the fishermen.
