Luena - The death toll from a car crash that took place Wednesday in Luena city, Moxico province, has risen to six, ANGOP has learnt.
According to the clinical director of the Moxico General Hospital, Georgina Mununga, one of the victims, aged 44, died Thursday morning, unable to resist the seriousness of the injuries on his abdomen after undergoing surgery.
As regards the remaining five patients who continue to receive medical assistance at the unit, the doctor said that they are stable, however with a guarded prognosis.
The accident was caused by an overloaded truck carrying sand at the National Road (EN180), crashing into a high-voltage power pole in the Alto Luena neighborhood.
Three people died on the spot and 15 were seriously injured. TC/YD/AMP
