Luanda - The Ambassador of Angola to France, Guilhermina Prata, discussed this Wednesday in Paris with the Permanent Delegate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Princess Haifa Al Mogrin, issues related to the Expo 2030.
During an audience at the Angolan Embassy in Paris, the Saudi diplomat requested Angola´s support for her country´s candidacy to host the event, in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia.
The event for the decision regarding the host of the universal exhibition scheduled for 2030, will take place in November this year, in France, during the Annual General Assembly of the International Bureau.
Angola, as a member of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE), has a word to say related to the decision making regarding the hosting of the different universal exhibitions.
Angola and Saudi Arabia have cooperative relations in the political and diplomatic fields, reinforced in 2019, with the visit to Angola of a high-level delegation from that Middle Eastern Kingdom.
The two countries signed, in 2018, a general agreement for technical, economic and cultural cooperation.
