Uíge – A total of 11,097 liters of fuel, bound for Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were seized in 2022, on border with DRC, in municipality of Maquela do Zombo, in the northern province of Uíge (Angola).
These are 7,202 liters of gasoline, 3,020 liters of diesel and 875 of lighting oil, seized by the local Border Police (PGF).
The announcement was made Tuesday by the provincial commander of the corporation in Uíge, commissioner Monteiro Francisco dos Santos, during a ceremony that marked the 47th anniversary of the creation of the National Police in that region of the country.
He also clarified that, in the same period, 1,360 foreign citizens were arrested, 688 from the DRC and 672 nationals, for violating the border.
The province of Uíge shares a 442 kilometers landborder with DRC.
