Luanda - The Chair of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE-Angola), Cumbi Júnior, asked the Angolan Executive, on Saturday, for tax relief for the young business class.
Speaking to the press, on the occasion of the closing of the 5th edition of the National Conference of Angola Businesspeople, he highlighted that currently taxes represent one of the concerns of the class, as working with own funds is very heavy.
Cumbi Júnior said that the need for access to financing is still an issue that needs to be reviewed, in order to achieve sustainability, promote employment and improve the relationship with Angolan banks.
He pointed out the need for more microcredit stocks, so that banks can look for customers, as currently the opposite is happening.
Cumbi Júnior expressed ANJE-Angola's willingness to cooperate with the Executive in finding solutions to problems affecting youth.
He appealed to the Executive to look, in mainly, at the youth financing line, in the sense of a real guarantee, so that more people have access to it.
He took advantage of the moment and announced the holding of the first edition of the ANJE award, on November 30th this year, where they will recognize young entrepreneurs, for what they do locally in the country.
Regarding the event, Cumbi Júnior made a positive assessment, highlighting that they had speakers aged between 26 and 71 years old, with experience and knowledge in the subject.
He mentioned that, during the two-day event held at the Belas Conference Center (CCB), more than 4.500 young people attended, including speakers and audience members.
He also highlighted that 20 scholarships were made available for professional courses, for a bachelor and master's degree splitted among Angola, Nigeria, Mozambique and South Africa.
Under the motto “The role of youth leadership in the process of implementing programs to support national production and promote tourism", the event had Angolan speakers Grace Mendes, Adilson Camacho, William Oliveira, Francisco Destino, Big Nelo, Danilo Castro, Ivanilson Machado, Elizabeth Dias dos Santos, Kelvin John, Wilson Ganga, Sarchel Necésio and João Nkosi, from Nigeria came businessman Adamu Abubacar, from South Africa, Prince Cedza Dlamini and Pandora Mabai and Mozambican Sheila Ibrahimo.
The main objective was to discuss national strategies for promoting tourism, encourage youth leadership in economic and social diversification with a focus on production, encourage collaboration and sharing of experiences, address the need for diversification of under-explored sectors, identify opportunities of changes given the current context.
Founded in 2023, ANJE is represented in eight provinces of the country, namely Luanda, Benguela, Huíla, Huambo, Cabinda, Lunda-Norte, Namibe and Uíge, with 2.000 members. SJ/OPF/SC/CF/DOJ
