Luanda - The Angola Press Agency (ANGOP-E.P.) strives for a quality public service that provides knowledge of national and international reality and training in various areas.
The position was defended Wednesday in Luanda by professionals from public and private media outlets, on the occasion of ANGOP's 49th anniversary marked on October 30.
The country's only news agency is committed to modernizing its services and improving the technical quality of its professionals.
According to the editor-in-chief of Rádio Luanda, Francisco Avelino, ANGOP serves as a source of research and news for the various news organizations.
“Every day, we visit ANGOP's website to see what it offers as an option for information,” he explained.
By way of example, he said that many filmmakers use the agency's information to prepare their stories.
The editor-in-chief of Rádio Mais, Roque Segunda, on his turn stressed that the agency has been a reference for many Angolans in their search for information on all sectors of life, social, political and economic.
Roque Segunda acknowledged the efforts made by ANGOP to improve its services.
Faustino Manuel, director of information and content at Rádio Kairós,highlighted the competence and rigor of the agency's professionals in carrying out their activities.
“We urge them to continue with the same rigor in the news, and beyond,” he said.
Regarding ANGOP, the commercial, marketing and exchange director of Edições Novembro, Modesto Elunga, emphasized that this news agency has been able to respond to its work by facilitating other media.
“Many Angolan media outlets go to ANGOP for news,” he said, urging the agency's professionals to keep the flame of information alive.
Agência Angola Press, ANGOP, is Angola’s public news company, which aims to collect, process, and distribute, on an exclusive basis, both in Angola and abroad, news based on objective information about national and international current affairs.
ANGOP was created in July 1975 under the name of Agência Nacional Angola Press (ANAP).
In the beginning, its work was distributed in the form of a printed bulletin, until, on October 30 of the same year, it launched its first telegraphic dispatch.
In 1991 it opted to broadcast its work 24 hours a day and also introduced innovations in editorial and technical terms. MEL/OHA/AMP
