Lubango - The trainer of staff of Angolan News Agency Press - Public Company (ANGOP- EP), Rui Vasco, Saturday in Lubango, recommended journalists to be rigorous and respect journalism techniques.
The recommendation was made to ANGOP on the sidelines of the closing of the refresher course on electoral coverage, stressing that if they do so they will be doing a rigorous and unbiased job, which will help avoid conflicts.
He said that during the four-day training, aspects linked to the strategy for covering the General Elections were reviewed, such as organising a newsroom, the norms of conduct, good journalistic coverage, the treatment of news information, the relationship with sources and the electoral legislation.
He detailed that during the electoral period, sources deserve a "special treatment", which is why they have done some revision on the Portuguese language, as the main tool for the journalist's work, and training in photography, as it is an important support for texts.
Rui Vasco underlined that the professionals should pay more attention to the new trends in journalism: social networks, making a deep preparation on what these publish, distinguishing from them the value of the news and political marketing.
For Rui Vasco, it was training where the participants interacted permanently with practical exercises, dialogue and exchange of ideas, so he thinks it was a "good exercise" under the theoretical point of view, saying he is convinced that ANGOP will make a "good coverage".
The cycle began in Huíla province and next Tuesday (19) will take place in Huambo, where journalists from Benguela, Bié, Cuando Cubango, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico will meet.
The training action will end in Luanda, with staff placed in Cabinda, Bengo, Kwanza Sul, Kwanza Norte, Malanje, Zaire and Uige.
