Luanda - The Angola Press Agency (ANGOP - E.P) celebrates its 49th anniversary on Wednesday, at a time when the company continues to focus on the modernization of its services and the improvement of the technical quality of its professionals.
ANGOP released its first article on October 30, 1975, marking the beginning of uninterrupted news production until now.
Over the 49 years, ANGOP has experienced a growing technological development and modernization, which has allowed it to gain international prestige.
As part of this program, the agency launched, in 2022, the Multimedia Portal, which includes exclusive video, audio, photography and advertising content.
Regarding the event, the Board of Directors (CA) of ANGOP points out that these 49 years were difficult moments, but also pleasant, in which it was possible to continue the fulfillment and implementation of the work plans in the different sectors and to carry out actions of vital importance for the regular and harmonious functioning of the agency.
The Board of Directors stresses that, by celebrating the date, the company thus reaches the end of another year of work, in this noble mission of serving society, providing a public information service.
It points out that, as always, the ability to overcome and resilience stood out, based on the will and spirit of delivery, which have always characterized his workers, in the face of the challenges of the moment.
In this regard, it calls on everyone to share the same joy and the firm will to continue to be encouraged in the effort for the continuous transformation and modernization of the agency, in such a way that it can make society proud, all workers of the headquarters, provincial delegations and sub-delegations, and their respective families.
Angola Press Agency, abbreviated as ANGOP, is a public news company in the country, which aims to collect, process and distribute, on an exclusive basis, both in Angola and abroad, news based on objective information on national and international affairs.
ANGOP was created in July 1975, under the name of Agência Nacional Angola Press (ANAP).
At first, his works were distributed in the form of a printed bulletin, until, on October 30 of the same year, it launched his first telegraphic dispatch.
In 1991, it opted for the broadcast of his work 24 hours a day and also introduced innovations in the editorial and technical plans. SJ/MCN/DOJ
