Caxito - The governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, on Tuesday in Caxito invited Angolans living in the diaspora to be ambassadors for the province in the countries where they live.
She made this invitation during a meeting she held with a group of Angolans living outside Angola, with the aim of helping to boost the development of the province and the country as well.
She said that the province needs investment in infrastructure, as well as in tourism and agriculture to improve people's lives and create jobs.
The 30 Angolans were briefed on the social and economic situation of the region and the potential it offers.
The head of the group, Mateus Sebastião, considered what he saw to be positive because, according to him, the country is building up in terms of infrastructure.
He explained that one of the aims of the visit to the country was to see what had been built in the regions, so that those outside Angola would have a real image of the country in terms of growth and, from this perspective, be motivators in the countries where they live, bringing the business sector to the country for investment.
During their visit to Bengo province, the Angolans living in the diaspora visited the King Salomon Farm (the largest producer of tilapia in captivity in the province), the Mabubas Dam Hydroelectric Power Station, the Hospital Reverend Guilherme Pereira Inglês and the Teresa Afonso satellite city.
Bengo Province is located in the centre-north of the country. It is made up of six municipalities with around 515,967 inhabitants.
