Luanda – Angola recorded 8,106 traffic accidents between January and October of this year, the police authorities said on Sunday.
According to data released by the authorities, on the occasion of the World Day in Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims marked on November 15, there have been 776 accidents reduction compared to the same period last year.
The accidents caused 1,600 deaths, 336 less than last year, and 9,360 injured (308 less).
There have been recorded 2,678 car hits causing 742 deaths and 3,246 injured. Official data indicate that road accidents are the second cause of death after Malaria.
