Luanda - Angola is finalizing preparations for the Third Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence to take place on November 22-24 within the scope of the Luanda Biennale, the spokesperson of the Biennale, Neto Junior said Thursday.
The forum takes place under the motto “education, culture of peace and African citizenship as tools for the sustainable development of the continent”.
Speaking at a meeting with journalists, the spokesperson highlighted that several activities have been carried out in favor of the culture of peace, with emphasis on the audience granted by the chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, to the coordinator of the multisectoral committee of the Luanda Biennale and Minister of State for Social Affairs.
Neto Junior informed that it has been held the first ordinary meeting of the Steering Committee of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace between members of the multisectoral commission of the Luanda Biennale and the Commission for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union.
The meeting served to evaluate and adopt the conceptual note and programme for the third edition of the forum.
The 3rd edition of the Luanda Biennial will feature a series of lectures, conferences and debates and parallel events aimed at the private and academy sector.
Its purpose is to contribute to the construction and realization of an integrated, peaceful and prosperous Africa, in which its children take an assertive and supportive position in the economic and social transformation of the continent.
The 3rd edition is expected to have the participation of more than 600 entities. LIN/OHA/CF/AMP
