Luanda - A delegation from the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), led by its director general, António Paulo Bendje, has been taking part since Tuesday in Lyon, France in the annual meeting of the heads of the national offices of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).
The event, which ends on Thursday (25), is being held under the slogan ‘a united front against the threat of transnational organised crime’ and will discuss Interpol projects and programmes, as well as sharing the experience of some countries involved in these projects.
According to a SIC press release ANGOP had access to, the event will feature roundtable sessions, divided into the regions of Africa, America, Europe and Asia, to assess the occurrences of organised crime in the specific context of each region.
At the conference centre in the international city, the Angolan delegation includes the director of the INTERPOL National Office in Angola, the SIC representative at the Interpol General Secretariat in Lyon and the Head of the Administrative Department of the SIC Director General's Office.
INTERPOL is an international organisation that facilitates worldwide police cooperation and crime control. It was founded on September 7, 1923 in Vienna, Austria, and has its headquarters in Lyon, France.
