Luanda – An Angolan delegation, led by the provincial governor of Luanda, Luís Nunes, attended on Monday (24) in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) the 41st General Assembly of the Union of Portuguese-Speaking Capital Cities (UCCLA).
According to a note sent to ANGOP, the meeting marked the beginning of the UCCLA´s 41st General Assembly and aimed to approve motions in accordance with the agenda defined for the session.
The event focuses on strengthening cooperation between member cities, exchanging good practices in urban management and promoting joint projects aimed at the sustainable development of Portuguese-speaking communities.
According to the document, the Luanda governor's attendance reaffirms the importance of the Angolan capital on the international stage and its commitment to the integration and modernization of urban services.
The event was attended by the Rio de Janeiro's mayor, Eduardo Paes, the deputy mayor of the Lisbon City Council, Filipe Correia, the UCCLA's secretary-general, Luís Ferreira, among other individuals.
