Luanda - The Minister of Social Care, Family and Women's Promotion Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto has been in Democratic Republic of Congo since Tuesday to attend the Meeting of SADC Ministers responsible for Gender Affairs taking place on June 2 in Kinshasa.
The main event will be preceded by a virtual meeting taking place today in which Angola will share its experience in resolving issues on Gender-Based Violence.
ANGOP learnt today from an official source that the ministers will review the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development, the Agenda for Women, Peace and Security and Women in Politics and Decision-Making Positions and address the Regional Project to Promote Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in Africa 2020-2030.
The agenda includes the presentation of a motion of thanks to the DRC for hosting the event. as well as to nominate Angola to host the next meeting of SADC Ministers responsible for Gender and Women Affairs scheduled for 2024 in Luanda.
