Luanda – The National Management Committee of the Luanda Biennale and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) met this Tuesday, in Luanda, to prepare the Third edition of the Biennale, whose central theme will be Education.
The meeting, chaired by the minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote Allen, reviewed the central theme, programme of activities and the institutional model of governance of the Biennale of Luanda.
The working group also analyzed the preparation strategy for the Kongo International Festival (FESTIKONGO) 2023 edition, as well as the communication plan for the event.
To the director of the UNESCO regional office for Central Africa, Paul Raymond Coustere, the main theme for this 3rd edition will be Education, taking into account the United Nations international summit on the transformation of education, which took place in September 2022.
As an area for reflection and dissemination of artistic works, ideas and good practices linked to the culture of peace, the 2023 Biennale, still without a set date, will bring together representatives of governments, civil society, the artistic and scientific community of national and international organizations.
Held under the banner of a Culture of Peace, the Luanda Biennale aims to develop the Pan-African Movement for non-violence.
The first edition took place in September 2019 and brought together three heads of state, 62 countries and 15,000 participants, as well as 200 artists at the Festival of Cultures.
