Luanda - The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, reaffirmed on Tuesday, in Tallinn, Estonia, Angola's openness to the construction of cyber security and artificial intelligence academies.
The Angolan government official spoke on the first day of the event, representing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço,
Mário Oliveira spoke about the opportunities and partnerships in the European Union's Global Gateway, to accelerate and promote the digital economy.
The minister mentioned the initiatives that have been implemented by the Government of Angola and identified some 'open doors' for partnerships, such as staff training and connectivity.
He said that this opening of Angola extends, among other areas, to the construction of equipment factories to support the employability and training of young people, making them qualified to respond to the challenges of the most varied fronts presented in the sector.
The Angolan delegation includes the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to the Republics of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Manuel Chaves, and staff from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.
On the first day of the event, Mário Oliveira held a meeting with the national Cyber director of the White House of the United States of America, ministers, ambassadors, public and private companies, including the Estonian Academy of Electronic Governance.
On different occasions, the Angolan government official met with the Serbian ambassador to Estonia and with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and TTI of Estonia, where the central topics discussed were cyber security, electronic governance and digital transformation.
