Luanda - Portuguese academic and journalist Carlos Magno on Wednesday in Luanda defended Angola's geographical position in Africa and the world, promoting interdependence that results in mutual benefits, commitment and shared responsibility between nations.
The academic made the statement on the second day of the 3rd Methodological Meeting of the Executive's Institutional Communication, promoted by the Ministry of Information Telecommunications and Media (MINTTICS), as part of the Executive's National Institutional Communication Plan 2024/2027.
For the academic, the implementation of sustainable policies and strategies that take advantage of Angola's geographical position could help achieve significant growth, although it will be necessary to maintain cultural identity.
The academic gave a summary of political issues in the world, such as the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the elections in the US, adding that the world is moving towards an uncertain society, given the triggering of many political and social situations around the globe.
In this context, he said that journalism should be the discipline of verification, being a slave to the facts, and that its professionals should live off curiosity and interest, based above all on dismantling fake news.
Cristóvão António Bragança, press attaché of Angola embassy in Ethiopia, on his turn said he has tried to convey the reflection of the positive actions being carried out in the country, such as the potential for investment in the agricultural and tourism sectors.
As for the methodological meeting, Bragança said the new tools will boost the work that has already been done, underscoring that training sessions should be continuous in order to exchange ideas and hear other angles of appreciation of what African and world politics is today.
The press attaché of the Angolan Embassy in Turkey, Amélia Conde, on her side, said the Executive's National Institutional Communication Plan 2024/2027 would provide the necessary tools to work on giving the country a good image abroad.
It will also serve as an introductory catalog for the plans developed by local communities and citizens about the country's potential.
The two-day was attended by press attaché, provincial directors of the Social Communication Offices and the Institutional Communication and Press Offices.
The 3rd Methodological Meeting of the Executive's Institutional Communication was held under the motto “Clarify more, communicate better”, having addressed issues related to the Executive's National Institutional Communication Plan 2024-2027. ANM/SEC/AMP
