Mbanza Congo - Eighteen doctors, from the six municipalities of the province of Zaire, began, on Monday, in Mbanza Kongo, to be trained in malaria management.
The training course lasts five days, as part of an initiative by the Ministry of Health, in partnership with 'The Mentor Initiative” NGO.
It involves knowledge about techniques to improve diagnosis and treatment of complicated and moderate malaria.
The action brings together doctors from Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Cuimba, Nzeto, Tomboco and Nóqui.
Speaking to ANGOP, the national trainer of the NGO “The Mentor Initiative”, Pedro Monteiro, said that Zaire falls within the regions of the country with a moderate to high level of malaria transmission.
From January to December 2023, the province of Zaire recorded 158 deaths from malaria, of the 279 thousand 272 positive cases diagnosed.
