Malanje- At least three cholera patients hospitalized in Malanje province in the last nine days have now fully recovered from the disease, following assistance at the treatment center in the Cahala district of Malanje, the deputy governor for political, economic and social sector, Franco Mufinda, said on Monday.
The patients were two men, aged 38 and 40, and a woman aged 55, the first from Luanda province and the other two from the Canâmbua neighborhood of Malanje city.
Franco Mufinda said that the local government continues to carry out actions to prevent and combat the disease, including the delivery of bleach to the most vulnerable families, the disinfection of water and the cleaning of houses.
The deputy governor reiterated the call for preventive measures to be taken through personal and collective hygiene, involving all citizens, as it is not the exclusive responsibility of the government to combat the vectors of disease transmission.
