Moçâmedes – A Health Fair is set to happen this Thursday, in the Namibe Province, as part of a promotion by the Telecommunications company “UNITEL”, in partnership with the Moçâmedes municipality administration.
Speaking to Angop, UNITEL's Senior Corporate Responsibility Officer, Cecília Fernandes, informed that several health services will be available at this fair, such as consultations linked to the specialties of general medicine, cardiology, pediatrics, prenatal care and vaccination.
He informed that the services will be free and will also include several lectures on topics related to hypertension, HIV/AIDS and malaria prevention.
The event falls within the scope of social responsibility, but specifically in assisting the government in expanding health services and reducing the rates of major endemic diseases and preventing maternal and child mortality.
The project, which has existed since 2015, has already served more than 1,400 people in Namibe, specifically in the municipalities of Tômbua and Moçamedes, and the goal this year is to exceed the previous figure.
For the success of this fair, Cecília Fernandes said that the company will count on the support of scouts, firefighters, the National Police and health technicians.
The fair will run until late Thursday afternoon.
