Moçâmedes – The governor of Namibe, Archer Mangueira, delivered medication kits for tuberculosis and malaria to health units in the province, aiming to reinforce the stock and improve medical and medication assistance.
These are drugs such as tuberculostatic, for the sanatorium hospital, and antimalarials for the primary care network, as well as various medications.
The governor also delivered three ambulances and five other vehicles to streamline the work of supervising the directors of the municipalities of Moçâmedes, Tômbwa, Bibala, Camucuio and Virei.
According to Archer Mangueira, the drugs will allow a quick reaction in the care of patients, reducing the pressure on health units.
He mentioned that to reduce cases of malaria, the Government prioritized actions within the scope of basic sanitation, with the massive distribution of mosquito nets.
As for vehicles, the governor called for the rational use of resources.
On the other hand, the director of the provincial health office, Coríntios Miguel, said that the province already has a stock of medicine.
He stated that the vehicles will create a new dynamic in the sector, especially in municipalities.
