Soyo - The 31st consultative council of the Health Ministry held Saturday in Soyo municipality, northern Zaire Province, recommended the improvement of the management of essential medicines in the country's health units through the use of appropriate tools.
The recommendation is contained in the final communiqué of the meeting led by the Health minister, Silvia Lutucuta.
Working for the successful municipalization of primary health care to meet the needs of the population and the challenges of demographic growth is also included in the conclusions.
The advisory board also recommended strengthening the mechanisms for more fluid communication between patients and health professionals, strengthening the coordination of strategies on social determinants of health by making health facilities and health services available in the municipalities.
The meeting also recommended the need to guarantee qualified and differentiated human resources at all levels of health services, to accelera the integration of the Community and Health Development Agents (ADECOS) to propel their action in local communities.
The participants requested the Health Ministry to improve the planning, recruitment and career management of the professionals of the sector, promote public tender for the return and entry of technicians whenever there are funds and to expand the human resources observatory in all provincial health offices.
The registration of health professionals before the next public contest, implementation of the isolation subsidy in remote areas, and the rewarding of employees who excel in the performance of their duties, are part of the range of recommendations that came out of the event.
The 31st advisory council of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), which was held under the slogan "Improved primary health care, increased quality of life", was attended by about 500 officials of the sector and guests.
