Luanda - Members of the Association of Firefighters for Peace in Communities (ABPC), started, on Friday, in Luanda, a blood donation action to reinforce the stock of the National Blood Institute, Hospital Américo Boa Vida and dos Cajueiros.
According to the association's national delegate, Yuri Joao, the action will cover, in the next actions, the provinces of Huambo, Bengo, Malanje and Cuanza Norte, due to the incidence of blood shortages.
He underlined that the initiatives aim to raise the awareness of Angolans so that they make blood donation a habit and not just a sporadic moment.
Due to the lack of blood in hospital units, he noted, many families lose their loved ones, a reality that can be reversed if there is a culture of voluntary donation in every citizen.
With the aim of saving lives, Yuri Joao called on organizations and civil societies to embrace similar initiatives, as a way of avoiding worse evils. MGM/ART/DOJ
