Luena - A 3.5-kilogram cyst was removed from the ovary of a 27-year-old patient by a medical team from the Moxico Provincial Maternity Hospital, reported today, Monday, in Luena, the clinical director of that health unit, Assunção Wica.
This is the second case recorded this August after, on the seventh, a team of surgeons from the General Hospital of Moxico removed a cyst weighing six kilograms from a 31-year-old citizen, known as Adriana Mukumbi, who lived with anomalous six years Aug.
According to Assunção Wica, who spoke to ANGOP, this was a cystectomy surgery that consisted of removing a cyst from a patient from the municipality of Luau, named Uhenha Antónia, who had been suffering from this chronic tumor process for over a year.
At the time, he said that the patient was admitted to the hospital with a change in abdominal volume and severe abdominal pain.
He declared that the surgery was successful and the patient was recovering satisfactorily, being under observation in the post-operative period.
The medical team was made up of six professionals, including a general surgeon, an obstetrician, an internist specializing in obstetrics-gynecology, an instrumentalist and a circulating surgeon. ISAU/YD/CF/DOJ
