Viana – At least 2,103 citizens with different health conditions benefited from medical and pharmaceutical assistance, in Viana, Luanda Province, at the recent Integrated Health Fair, promoted with a focus on the nutrition of children under the age of five.
The data were provided to ANGOP on Monday, by the event’s manager, Matondo Beatriz Beirão, when taking stock of the two days of activity, an initiative by the Health Centers of Viana district, with the support of 62 technicians.
In nutrition consultations, 305 patients were observed, of which 278 were moderate and 7 severe conditions that were referred to the local Nutritional Center, as well as 832 in medicine, 639 in pediatrics, 43 in stomatology, 21 in psychology, 102 others benefited from vaccination, 44 HIV testing, 38 prenatal consultation and 79 family planning.
The source also noted the daily record, at the Ana Paula dos Santos Health Center alone, of between 20 and 30 children with malnutrition, which motivated the holding of the fair, to bring health services to the communities.
He highlighted that high blood pressure was the most frequent diagnosis among adults aged 45, appealing to the population to low consumption of salt and fat and invest in physical exercise.
Matondo Beirão also highlighted the fact that the fair, held in the field near to the Sanzala market, fulfilled its objective of offering nutritional screenings and health guidance, mainly for vulnerable families.
The Viana Municipal Health Department periodically holds Health Fairs to guarantee medical assistance to the local inhabitants. It always counts on the partnership of the National Police (PN), the Civil Protection Service and the Fire Department.
One of the highly populated areas of Luanda Province, Viana Municipality has roughly three million inhabitants.
