Ondjiva – At least 816 professionals including nurses, diagnostic and therapeutic technicians, will reinforce the health system in the southern Cunene Province, within the framework of the additional quota of the last public tender, authorised by the Ministry of Health (MINSA).
There are 366 nursing technicians, 41 nursing graduates, 200 diagnostic and therapeutic technicians as well as 86 graduates, 12 of the general regime, 65 supervisors, 41 clinical secretaries and five drivers.
The information was given to ANGOP this Thursday by the head of the Statistics, Planning and Human Resources department of the Health Office in Cunene, Alberto Ndeitapo, who said that the vacancies are for candidates who, despite having scored well in the 2022 public tender, were not admitted due to insufficient vacancies.
According to him, the professionals will be hired based on need and the highest score obtained by the candidates.
He said that there are vacancies in various categories, 90% of which will be in the future Ondjiva General Hospital, to be inaugurated this year.
“This is a special process that only covers seven provinces and Cunene is one of them as a result of the investment in infrastructure that the government has been implementing in the sector”, he emphasised adding that the process of receiving suitable and admitted candidates runs from the 13th to the 24th of this month, so he called on the selected professionals to send their documents to the Health office.
Cunene Province controls 158 health units, including a general hospital, one at the Chiulo Catholic Mission, six municipal hospitals, 107 health posts and 43 health centres, supported by 2,872 professionals.
The Ministry of Health (MINSA) authorised on Monday (13) an additional quota for the hiring of 5,511 professionals as part of the sector's last public tender, which took place in 2022.
The physicians, nurses, diagnostic and therapeutic technicians of the general regime and social workers will fill vacancies in seven hospital units of the province of Luanda, Bengo, Moxico, Cunene, Cuanza Sul and Cuanza Norte.
The government will sign a two-year contract with 68 specialised doctors, 202 general practitioners and 26 social workers. Those interested will be put through a practical test.
