Luanda – At least 72,951 patients received medical assistance at Luanda’s Prenda Hospital in the first half of this year, the hospital’s director, Tomás Cassinda said Saturday.
Speaking to ANGOP, following an assessment visit by the Head of State, the doctor said 26,877 patients were treated in the emergency department, while some 46,74 patients were treated in outpatient clinics, adding that 7,652 normal and highly complex surgeries were carried out in the unit during the aforementioned period.
According to the doctor, the hospital, which currently receives a facelift, assists 700 patients a day and has a capacity to accommodate 250 beds and 82 haemodialysis monitors.
The doctor underlined that patients are treated in different specialties, such as emergency services, outpatient consultations, physiotherapy and outpatient dialysis and support training institutions.
Operating since 1974, Prenda Hospital provides medium and highly complex medical and surgical care through qualified teams and develops research and teaching programmes in the specialties of neurology, orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology and internal medicine. EVC/OHA /MRA/AMP
