Cabinda – The director-general of the health unit, Pombalino de Oliveira, said Friday that at least 366 surgeries, both complex and minor, were carried out in the first half of this year at Cabinda Provincial Hospital.
Speaking to ANGOP, the official, who did not provide statistics for the previous period, said that a total of 119 patients with acute kidney dialysis problems and advanced hernias were successfully operated on in the first six months of the year.
He said that 247 minor operations had also been carried out on patients diagnosed with cysts, abscesses and adipose tissue.
He said that the surgical sessions were carried out by 15 health professionals, including specialists, surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses.
Cabinda Provincial Hospital has a capacity of 279 beds and is staffed by 604 technicians, including 99 doctors and 282 nurses. JFC/JL/DAN/DOJ
