Sumbe - The Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, said today (Friday), in the city of Sumbe, that the lack of water affects the entry into operation of the Cuanza-Sul Provincial General Hospital.
The minister carried out an observation visit to the works of the Cuanza-Sul General Hospital, practically completed and equipped.
The official said that the big problem is the lack of water in the health unit, which leads to the postponement of its opening, scheduled for the first quarter of this year.
She mentioned that the problem is being resolved with the Ministry of Energy and Water and the Provincial Government of Cuanza-Sul, since the water collection point is approximately 12 kilometers from the aforementioned hospital.
Work on the health unit began in September 2021, carried out by the Swiss construction company specializing in healthcare solutions, Promed Internacional.
The unit will have a capacity of 200 beds and will have inpatient areas, hemodialysis, psychiatry, intensive care units, surgery rooms, among others, occupying an area of six hectares. ICJ/LC/OHA/DOJ
