Luanda - Angola's Health Minister Sílvia Lutucuta on Friday highlighted the spirit of selflessness and resilience of doctors in fulfilling their mission to save human lives, in line with the Hippocratic oath.
In a congratulatory message on the"Doctor's Day", celebration marked on January 26, the minister said despite the limitations of the current context, there has been substantial progress in health services.
According to the minister, the spirit of unselfishness and resilience has guided the recognised technical and professional skills, with a code of values in health units.
Silvia Lutucuta also expressed the Angolan government and people's recognition of the sacrifices made by doctors.
The minister added that in the last five years the number of professionals in the national health service has increased, having underlined the training of 38,000 health professionals in special and general regimes.
Minister Lutucuta emphasised that investment in infrastructure and human capital will enable health professionals, especially doctors, to continue on the path of unconditional commitment to medical ethics and deontology. EVC/OHA/DAN/AMP
