Luanda – Angola’s minister of Health Sílvia Lutucuta Wednesday in Luanda urged the citizens to join the vaccination posts to get booster Covid-19 shots.
Sílvia Lutucuta’s call stemmed from the increase in cases of Covid-19 in China and Europe.
Speaking to the press, the minister said the upsurge in the cases in China and Europe worries the Angolan authorities.
She said that people must comply with all stages of the vaccine to ensure complete immunisation coverage.
"For those who have already taken the 2 complete doses, they should take the 3rd and then the 4th, because many of these first doses are no longer valid, requiring the completion of the cycle," she said.
The minister also guaranteed that epidemiological surveillance teams will continue to carry out their random screening work after the festive season.
According to her, the country has recorded few casualties caused by Covid-19, adding that despite the reduction, some people, especially those with comorbidities, end up dying.
