COVID-19: Angola receives 40,000 doses sputnik vaccine

Luanda – Angola has received 40,000 doses of Russian Sputnik vaccine, Angop has learnt

The fact was confirmed by National Director of Public Health, Helga Freitas, on Wednesday, stating that the batch is part of 12 million doses of the Sputnik vaccine.

Six million people are expected to get sputnik vaccine.

The Angolan Executive will also receive than four million Johnson & Johnson and more than one million Pfizer vaccine, Helga Freitas has told the press.

Professionals in the banking sector,  General Tax Administration (AGT), are among the priority group.

The national plan foresees to cover about 54% of the population, a total of 16.8 million, aged over 16.

So far, the country has received more than one million doses of the Astrazeneca and sinopharma vaccine.
