Covid-19: Angola reports 133 infections, 55 recoveries

Luanda - Angolan health authorities announced Friday the registration of 133 new infections, one death and 55 recovered patients.

According to Health Minister, Silvia Lutucuta, who was speaking at the usual update session, there were 46 cases registered in Luanda, 20 in Benguela, 20 in Cabinda, 17 in Cunene, 17 in Moxico, eight in Huambo, three in Cuando Cubango and one in Lunda Sul.

According to the Cabinet minister, the list of new patients, aged between one month and 80 years old, includes 85 men and 48 women.

In relation to the death, she said, it involved a 22-year-old citizen of Luanda.

Of those recovered, the official said, 25 are located in Namibe, 17 in Malanje, eight in Luanda, three in Huíla and two in Benguela, aged six to 63.

Angola currently has 14,267 positive cases, with 334 deaths, 7,117 recovered and 6,816 active people.

Of the active cases, eight are in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation, 11 severe, 189 moderate, 229 with mild symptoms and 6,379 asymptomatic.
