Luanda – A total of 135 new cases of cholera were registered, in the last 24 hours, in the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Icolo and Bengo, Malanje and Cabinda.
According to the Information Bulletin of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), which updates daily the cholera data in the country, in the last 24 hours, three deaths were also registered in Luanda.
Of the 135 cases reported, 89 are from Luanda, 28 from Bengo, 13 from Icolo and Bengo, 4 from Malanje and one from Cabinda.
According to the note, during the aforementioned period, 72 people were discharged and 153 patients are currently hospitalized in different health units across the country.
The affected people's ages range from 2 to 100 years, of which 56% are male.
Since the outbreak began in January of the current year, a cumulative total of 4,717 cases have been reported, 2,296 in Luanda, 1,778 in Bengo, 563 in Icolo and Bengo, 28 in Cuanza-Sul, 27 in Malanje, 8 in Huambo, 6 in Huila, 5 in Zaire, 3 in Cabinda, 2 in Cuanza-Norte and a single case in Cunene,
In total Angola registered a sum of 166 deaths, of which 71 in the province of Bengo, 70 in Luanda, 19 in Icolo and Bengo, 3 in Malanje, 2 in Cuanza-Sul and one in Cabinda.
