Luanda – A sum of 120 new cases of cholera were registered in the last 24 hours in the provinces of Cuanza-Norte, Luanda, Bengo, Benguela, Malanje, Icolo & Bengo, Cabinda, Bié and Huambo.
According to the Ministry of Health's Information Bulletin, which updates the number of cases in the country, 4 deaths were also registered in Cuanza-Norte, Luanda, Benguela and Bengo in the last 24 hours.
According to the note, out of the 120 cases reported, 42 are from Cuanza-Norte, 36 from Luanda, 15 from Bengo, 9 from Benguela, 6 from Malanje, 5 from Icolo & Bengo, 4 from Cabinda, 2 from Bié and a single case from Huambo.
During the aforementioned period, 106 people were discharged from hospital and 234 patients with cholera are currently hospitalized.
Since the beginning of the outbreak in Jan, a cumulative total of 8,411 cases have been reported, of which 4,108 were in Luanda, 2,458 in Bengo, 810 in Icolo & Bengo, 458 in Cuanza-Norte, 209 in Benguela, 202 in Malanje, 44 in Zaire, 37 in Cabinda, 36 in Cuanza-Sul, 23 in Huambo, 15 in Uige, 7 in Huíla, 2 in Bié, and 1 in Cunene and Cubango.
So far 322 deaths has occurred since the outbreak, of which 153 were in Luanda, 93 in Bengo, 35 in Cuanza-Norte, 21 in Icolo & Bengo, 9 in Benguela, 6 in Malanje, 3 in Cuanza-Sul, 1 in Zaire and in Cabinda.
