Talatona – Angola is to host on August 30 an international conference on dental medicine organized by the American Dental Association (ADA) through the “Somus Unity” project, a philanthropic organization that trains dental specialists in Africa.
This is the first international conference on the subject, and will be attended by the renowned Dr. Cohlmia, who in October last year and May this year chaired two teleconferences for hundreds of dentists, researchers and medical students, including Africans, Brazilians and Europeans.
The “Somus Unidade” project is an international philanthropic organization that has been training specialists in dental medicine in Africa for around five years.
According to the Angolan specialist in Sports Dentistry, Félix Tchissola, the event will be organized in partnership with the International League for Scientific Medical Research and the support of the Angolan Medical Association covering different topics related to oral health.
Speaking to Angop ahead of the event, the doctor explained that more than 500 people are involved in the certification and accreditation of dental materials, using specific laboratories as a way of offering quality oral health to the African population.
Félix Tchissola said the conference also aims to explain the criteria required for researchers, their credibility and how the ADA can be an influence in Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP), as well as modern dentistry and the challenges for the future.
He added that the renowned Dr. Cohlmia has vast experience in showing how to obtain grants or incentives for scientific research and the ways to legitimize scientific medical research worldwide.
Tchissola said that there will be three topics to guide researchers in acquiring the best tools for producing scientific texts.
