Bibala – The acting governor of Namibe, Ema Silva informed that, at least, 18,000 children aged 5 to 14 will be dewormed with praziquantel, until the 1st of November, in that province.
The action is part of the provincial campaign to combat Schistosomiasis, which has been taking place since Monday (Oct 28) in Namibe province.
According to the government official, the campaign plans to deworm more than 18 thousand children, in 44 schools, in the municipalities of Bibala, Camucuio and Mocâmedes.
She highlighted that Schistosomiasis is a disease that compromises children's academic performance, which is why the government has made combating it a priority.
The campaign's opening ceremony was attended by members of the government, provincial and municipal directors, administrators, among other entities. FA/OHA/CF/DOJ
