Luanda - The Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) highlighted, in the last 24 hours, among others, the following issues:
Commission
The President of the Republic, João Lourenço created, on Monday, a Multisectoral Commission for the protection of the State's strategic objectives, through the prevention of vandalism of public goods and services.
According to the presidential order, the new Commission has, among its attributions, the creation of adequate conditions for the protection of strategic objectives, whether movable or immovable things, intended for the use or provision of public service.
Robotic surgery
The director of Global Robotics, Vipul Patel, on Tuesday in Luanda, considered the first robotic surgery in the country, which took place on Tuesday, as an 'important milestone' for Angola and Africa.
The doctor, who heads a team of foreign health specialists who performed the surgery using a robot, was received in audience by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to whom he informed of the innovative process carried out in Angola, as part of the improvement of the National Health System (SNS).
Cooperation
The increase in cooperation between Angola and Switzerland in the various areas of common interest was the reason for the conversation held on Tuesday in Luanda by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, with the Swiss Ambassador, Lukas Gasser.
According to a press release to which ANGOP had access, the occasion was used for the Swiss Ambassador to underline his country's efforts to contribute to the diversification of the Angolan economy and support for social development projects in Angola.
Nomination
The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, appointed, on Tuesday, Dina Emiliana Mayimona to the position of Secretary of State for Social Action.

SADC
The annual meeting of the Legal Subcommittee of the Central Banks of the countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) started on Tuesday in Lubango, Huíla province, 'behind closed doors'.
The event, which brings together experts from 12 SADC countries, is led by the national director of the Legal Department of the SADC Central Banks, Tânia Alberto, in a space whose main mission is to harmonize procedures and convergence of policies for monetary stability in the region.
Mourning
Former journalist of the Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) Nsimba Ludovic died on Monday in Luanda, at the age of 69, victim of illness.
According to a family source, Nsimba Ludovic died on the way to the Hospital Complex for Cardio-Pulmonary Diseases Cardinal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento, after having a relapse at his residence, in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda.
Vandalism
Four hundred families in the Patrice Lumumba neighborhood, in Lubango, Huíla province, have been deprived of electricity supply since Monday, as a result of the vandalization of an electrical cabin, whose material damage is yet to be assessed.
According to the spokesman for the National Electricity Distribution Company (ENDE), Yuri Chico, individuals yet to be identified opened the doors of a Monobloco (PT) and removed the fuses, leaving half of the neighborhood without electricity.
Abu Dhabi World Championship
Angolan Albertina Ntyamba won the bronze medal at the World Youth Mixed Arts (MMA) World Championships, in both genders, which are taking place in the United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi.
Albertina achieved the feat in the 57Kgs category.
Olympic Games
The Angolan duo Manuel António and Benilson Sanda was relegated to the B final, after finishing fourth in the 500m canoeing, with a time of 1min.49 secs, in the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games taking place in Paris (France).
With this record, the national pair missed the second chance to get a place out of the three, which would qualify them for the semi-finals, after losing the direct chance by finishing in sixth place, in the second heat (1.51.53). IZ/DOJ
