Dundo - The FURI Mining Society plans to increase the workforce from 770 to 1000 by 2025, with priority given to local and national labor.
The information was provided yesterday by the company's deputy director of Mining Operations, Eduardo Dico, on the occasion of the Mine Workers' Day, celebrated on the 27th of this month, highlighting that the hiring of new workers will depend on the mine's expansion program.
He made it known that of the current 770 workers, 766 are Angolans and four expatriates.
He said that the expansion program also plans to increase monthly production from 14.2 to 25k carats of diamonds monthly this year.
On the other hand, he reiterated the company's commitment to supporting communities' development, through its social responsibility program.
He informed that since 2021, the company has built two schools with 12 and 4 classrooms, water holes, in addition to providing a generator to supply electricity in Nzanji, the seat of the municipality of Cambulo, where the mine operates.
Exploration at the mine, opened in 2021, is carried out in the “in open air”, on benches supported by ramps and machines, such as 75 and 80 ton excavators, bulldozers and dampers to remove waste and ore.
