Luena - The Provincial Minister of Zambia's Western province, Kapelwa Mbanqueta, said that his country is promoting "synergies and interaction" to study new areas of cooperation between Angola and Zambia's governments to meet the needs of the population.
Kapelwa Mbangueta expressed this intention after a Wednesday’s meeting with his counterpart from Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, as part of the First Angola/Zambia Business Forum taking place from June 26 to 29.
For this Forum, the Zambian official is accompanied by a delegation made up of more than 54 businesspeople from the neighboring country, a member of the Southern African Community (SADC).
Mbangueta said the aim is to find common ground in order to ascertain areas of mutual interest to cooperate and consequently invest.
The 54 businesspeople work in sectors such as tourism, commerce, transportation and agriculture, and during the event will exchange experiences and identify possible areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The inaugural edition of the Angola/Zambia Business Forum is in line with the commitments to strengthen relations between the Moxico Provincial Government and Zambia's border provinces, reflecting the strong partnership that has developed over the last few years.
Starting on Wednesday, the second day of the event, there will be networking sessions and presentations of investment opportunities, discussions on economic development, infrastructure and bilateral cooperation, and a business fair.
The Forum will end with visits to agricultural and mining projects and the signing of letters of intent, as well as a press conference.
