Luanda – The Vice-President of Angola Esperança da Costa is to open on Friday in Luanda, the Southern African Conference of the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF), ANGOP has learnt.
The conference aims to help raise awareness and empower women to exercise their economic, political, cultural, sporting and social rights in society.
It also aims to transmit knowledge about tools to promote gender equality and women's rights, as well as making the world aware of the importance of working to promote and advance gender equality, with a view to empower women at various levels.
Founded in Paris, France, in 1945, the WIDF is made up of women's organizations from all over the world that are fighting for the emancipation of men and women, for a fairer society and for peace in the world. FMA/ART/AMP
