Namibe - The Vice-President of Angola, Esperança Costa, left on Tuesday for a 72-hour visit to Namibe province to preside over the third ordinary session of the National Commission for the Safeguarding of World Heritage.
According to a press release, the meeting will present the state of play of the draft regulations of the Participatory Management Committee of the Historical Centre of Mbanza Kongo and the draft implementation report of the recommendations of the World Heritage Committee on Mbanza Kongo.
It will also analyze the state of the cultural heritage in Namibe province.
Created by presidential decree and coordinated by the Vice-President of the Republic, the Commission aims to promote the implementation of conservation programs and the participatory management of national cultural heritage, taking into account the need to adopt special measures for the monitoring of national cultural heritage of exceptional universal value.
