Luanda - The three-day official visit of the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro, during which 12 new legal instruments were signed, marked the political news of ANGOP in the week that ends today (27).
On this trip, as part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the Portuguese official was received by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as well as participated in other activities, including the Angola-Portugal business forum, within the scope of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA).
Before returning to Portugal, Montenegro travelled to the province of Benguela to get to know the Lobito Corridor project on the spot, and announced the reinforcement of more than 500 million euros of the credit line for Angola, currently set at two billion euros.
At the opening of the talks between the delegations of Angola and Portugal, which took place at the Presidential Palace, the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, requested from this European nation the technical and professional training of young people.
According to President João Lourenço, the country has established priorities that it intends to meet and solve with Portuguese help, in key branches for Angola's economy.
'It is essential that Angola has a large number of young staff well prepared to respond to the great demand in this field, felt internally by the country's public and private institutions,' he said on the occasion.
Regarding possible reparation for crimes from the colonial era, the statesman said that Angola will never request compensation from Portugal.
'If Angola, during the 49 years of Independence, has never asked this question, we will never ask it,' he stressed.
Also, in the week that ends today, the statements of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in Accra, Ghana, were highlighted, where he stressed the fact that the African continent faces immense challenges that constitute obstacles to the fulfillment of the objectives of the integration agendas as Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms.
The statesman made these statements during the VI biannual coordination meeting between the African Union (AU), the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the Regional Mechanisms (RM), which took place in the city of Accra (Ghana).
ANGOP also highlighted, as part of the presidential agenda, the letter of the Angolan statesman sent to his counterpart from Egypt, Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, to congratulate the Government and people of this country for the celebration of another anniversary of its Independence.
In the message, he expressed his satisfaction at seeing, on that date, 'remarkable advances' recorded in various areas of Egypt's life.
In another letter, the Angolan President congratulated Paul Kagame, on his reappointment as Head of State of Rwanda, in the elections held on the 15th of this month.
João Lourenço said he hopes to continue working on strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between Angola and Rwanda.
Likewise, the Angolan leader held a telephone conversation with the President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, about aspects of a regional nature.
Mohamed Ould Ghazouani is acting President of the African Union (AU), whom João Lourenço will succeed in the post at the beginning of next year.
On the other hand, the Italian multinational ENI, which produces hydrocarbons, announced that it plans to soon explore around 150 thousand hectares of land, with a view to producing vegetable oil.
The information was provided by the president of the ENI Executive Committee, Cláudio Descalzi, at the end of an audience with the Angolan Head of State, which served to address issues related to the implementation of several social projects in the country.
Also making headlines was the hearing that the Head of State granted to the president of the Southern African Development Community Administrative Court (SADCAT), Sanji Monsangi, with whom he discussed questions about the work carried out by the institution in the region.
The head of the judiciary in the SADC region was in Luanda to preside over the 1st Conference and 17th Plenary of SADCAT.
Just this week, the Council of Ministers (CM) considered, at its 7th ordinary meeting, the proposed Law that approves the Legal Regime of the General Courts' Vault, in a session chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The diploma, which goes to the National Assembly, institutionalizes the General Courts Chest and approves the respective regulations.
In the same session, this body approved the diploma that establishes the fundamental principles and rules to be observed in the registration of storage facilities, with a view to ensuring their effectiveness, as well as giving a favorable opinion to the Regulation on Hunting and Sustainable Management of Wild Fauna, which regulates the Forestry and Wild Fauna Base Law.
Likewise, in the field of forests, the CM approved the decree that creates the National Council for the Protection of Forests and Wild Fauna and the respective regulations, with the aforementioned council being a consultation body for the Holder of Executive Power.
In the public works, urban planning and housing sector, this body approved the Presidential Decree that establishes the rules and procedures relating to the configuration, allocation, transmission and extinction of the Property Identification Number (NIP), as well as the Registration Certificate models. and Changing Registration Data for Urban and Rural Buildings.
The meeting also approved two diplomas in the field of mineral resources that prohibit the export of two minerals, namely quartz and gypsum.
It was also headline news about the possibility of Angola and the United Arab Emirates planning, in the near future, the creation of an inter-parliamentary commission with a view to deepening and strengthening bilateral relations.
The intention was expressed by the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates accredited to Angola, Salem Al Khamis Obeid, during a hearing granted by the vice-president of the 3rd commission of the National Assembly, José Semedo, highlighting that relations between the two States are strong. SC/DOJ
