Gaborone - Botswana’s main daily newspaper Monday featured Angolan head of State João Lourenço's recently ended two-day visit to that country’s capital, Gaborone.
The Daily News focused on the activities carried out by the Angolan head of State.
A full page was devoted to the photographic illustration of the different moments of the president João Lourenço 's passage through Gaborone.
The Newspaper stresses the "historic" nature of the Angolan President's trip and the expectation that it will bring "benefits" to both countries.
"Historic and beneficial visit", is the headline on the cover of the Daily News, focusing on the speech made by Botswana president during the official banquet offered Friday to João Lourenço at the end of his first State visit to Botswana.
Therefore, the newspaper stressed that the historic visit of the Angolan head of State laid the foundations for the deepening of ties between the two countries, whose diplomatic relations date back to the early days of Angola's Independence.
Angola and Botswana’s diplomatic relations started in 1975. Both countries signed the General Cooperation Agreement in February 2006.
