Hanoi – A delegation of the ruling MPLA led by Manuel Augusto, Secretary of the Political Bureau (BP) for International Relations, arrived Monday in Hanoi to strengthen relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV).
The visit by the delegation of the MPLA follows the recent visit to the country by a high-level delegation from the PCV led by the secretary of the Central and Propaganda Committee of this political grouping that governs Vietnam, Nguyen Trong Nghia.
In Luanda, the two political parties, which will complete 50 years of bilateral cooperation in 2025, discussed the future of relations.
In the Vietnamese capital, the MPLA delegation is expected to visit the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh and other premises as well as holding meetings with senior PCV officials.
Angola and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in November 1975 and, three months later, signed the General Cooperation Agreement, which served as the basis for the opening of various protocols in the social, economic and technical-scientific areas. MR/ADR/TED/AMP
