Luanda - The Minister of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ngunyen Kim Son, presented Tuesday courtesy greetings in Luanda to the vice-president of the ruling MPLA, Luísa Damião, and congrtaulated the party on its victory in the 2022 general elections.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Vietnamese official said he took the opportunity to inform the MPLA vice-president of the levels of cooperation between Angola and Vietnam, as well as the need to strengthen them.
Ngunyen Kim Son said the two countries cooperate in various areas, particularly education and health and that his country intends to invest heavily in the agriculture and trade sectors.
The Vietnamese minister emphasized that in addition to the good political and diplomatic relations between the two countries, the focus for the near future will be on investing more in the Angolan market.
Relations
Angola and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in November 1975. In 1978 the two nations signed a General Cooperation Agreement, an instrument that served as the basis for the opening of various protocols in the social, economic and technical-scientific fields.
Relations between the two countries have been limited to the areas of agriculture, health, education and trade. Figures show that there are around 20 private Vietnamese companies working in Angola. FMA/VIC/TED/AMP
